We purchased a Sony Bravia LCD TV from Best Buy that had problems with the front panel within a year. We are not TV technicians and were unaware of the problem at first. The TV would have darker coloring and horizontal lines that would clear up after several minutes. When we described the problem we were told that the problem could be with our cable service provider, Dish Network, and we should call them. We called our cable service provider, Dish Network, and after a half hour or more of going through many options they told us that the problem was with the Sony Bravia LCD TV. We called Sony and were told that the problem could be with our cable. Sony told us to have our TV checked by our cable service provider. The cable service provider checked the TV in person and told us that the problem was with the Sony Bravia LCD TV. We did not know what was happening with the TV as the problem got worse. After several more calls to Sony and our TV now being out of warranty we expressed our frustration and told Sony that they should have known what the problem was and that they should stand behind their product. Sony had us call a TV repair facility of their choice that found the problem to be with the front panel of the Sony Bravia LCD TV.

Sony agreed to replace the Sony Bravia LCD TV if we upgraded to the next "higher" Sony Bravia LCD TV model for an additional $500.00 that included delivery to our house. We agreed and were given a one year warranty.

The replacement Sony Bravia LCD TV has the same problem. We do not want another Sony Bravia LCD TV product. We have gone through a lot of frustration and waste of our time with two Sony Bravia LCD TV's going bad within two years' time. We do not have confidence with the Sony Bravia LCD TV product and want our money back so that we may purchase another make and model of TV.

We went to Best Buy where the first Sony Bravia LCD TV product was purchased and were told that we were probably having bad luck because the panels should last eight to ten years and we should not have to keep replacing these Sony Bravia LCD TV's and to contact Sony, the manufacturer.

Sony has made an offer to replace the front panel and give us an eight month extended warranty. Acceptance of this offer would not be in our best interest since the panels should last eight to ten years and have gone bad before the warranty expired. We are requesting a full refund.

I have a Sony model number kdl50w800c. I did a suggested update and now my tv has horizontal lines, I purchased the tv in August 2015 and paid a little over $800.

the warranty has expired and I'm left without a tv. The tv was working fine until the update. This is totally unacceptable. Sony shouldn't be able to get away with this.

I'm so pissed. Can we get a class action law suit

Has anyone come up with a "fix" for Sony's substandard equipment?

I bought SONY 32" LED TV and experienced vertical lines and ghost images within 3 years. Service person told that its a panel issue and to be replaced.

When I buy sony LED, the sales person told me that this LED will work upto 100,000 hours. But they failed to maintain their commitments.

Its upto us to spead this to the world not to buy any SONY products. We should teach them lessons by spreading this word to all you know.

I have purchased a highend TV of your make model KDL 40EX 720 Sr No 242**** on 2nd Oct 2011 from Sony Exclusive Suyog PrasadDigital , Tilak Road Pune. India Ref Invoice No.394 Dt 2.10.2011 On one fine evening of 6th Dec 2013 I observed a picture showing double images.

I lodged a compliant at your toll free number 180******** on 7 Dec 2013 9.18 am and after 10 days today Mr Anil from your authorised Service Center ( Telecare) Kothrud visited. He advised the need of replacing TV screen which costs more than 30% of cost of TV. This is very disappointing as a customer that the such high end product of reputed brand " Sony" fails in such short time. Now Sony India is asking may to pay 30000 INR ($500)as repairing cost and the warrenty for same is 3 months only.

We all must force Sony to extend the warrenty wfor 7-8 years for no additional cost. Obbviously If they have faith in their product qulaitySanjay+91 9850****89

I have similar issue as you. The 52 in Sony LCD is broken and they are asking $ 600 to replace the LCD while a new tv comes for $600.

They are not standing behind their product. I think it is better to something about it.

we bought a Sony Bravia also, from P.C Richards and we have the same problem. Our warranty was only up for one month. We bought a 2yr warranty and it came with a 1yr warranty, which we THOUGHT added up to 3yrs,so we figured we had time left, right?? NO..we were told when we purchased the extra 2 yrs it than erased the 1 yr that came with the t.v.

When we went to P.C.Richards we were told "we only sell them, you need to call Sony"..We did that and they also will not do anything.Doesn't any one stand behind their product??? Television getting worse,2,000$ out the window on a 52in.Will never go back to P.C Richacds or buy anything from Sony again and have no problem telling someone what we have gone through when we see them looking at their products.

LCD panel is dead and all Sony can offer me is a discount on another one of their tvs. It is crazy that these items have become disposable. Why should I spend more money for the Sony name if I can get away with a less expensive off-brand that will last just as long or even longer..

SONY CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS AND I WAS RECENTLY THREATENED BY A CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTAIVE WITH A LAW SUITE IF I WENT PUBLIC WITH THIS COMPLAINT. SO SONY LETS SEE IF YOU HAVE THE BALLS TO CARRY THRU ON YOUR REPS THREAT.

I purchased a Sony KDS-60AL120 three years ago that has required 3 projection bulbs in less than 3 years to be replace and now the optical block is going bad. The optical block cost $1,500 dollars and Sony is aware of the problem and recently lost a class action law suite pertaining to the optical block failure and is now offering 2 replacement television sets to consumers that own televisions with optical block failures. The consumers that have accepted this offer from Sony are rating these replacement television sets as being of a very poor quality for various reasons.

After several hours dealing with Sony customer service representatives I was threatened with legal action by Liz employee number C1LB on 1/5/2011 to stop me from going public with the fact that Sony knows they have a problem and that their customer service is the worse of the worst.

So Sony have at it and letรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs just see who wins.

The Sony national customer service office is located in Ft Meyers Florida and the phone number is 1-80*-***-**** but donรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt be surprised if youรขโ‚ฌโ„ขre transferred to Manila Philippines. Anytime you call the priority support number at 239-768-**** your calling the Philippines.

The Sony Executive Offices are located at 550 Madison Ave New York NY and the phone number is 212-833-****. Howard Stringer the CEO of Sony is sheltered from the public but Iรขโ‚ฌโ„ขm still tracking down where he lives in New York and his personal address to make public.

Nicole Seligman Executive Vice President is also general council for Sony her extension is 43 and her administrative assistant would not even provide her name and never called me back as she said she would.

Robert Wiesenthal is the Group Executive and his extension is 7750,

his administrative assistant is Cathy and she took all the info and never called me back as she started she would. I had to run a game with the receptionist in order to get the extension number of the above individuals because they will not put you thru to these individuals otherwise.

The best thing I can advise anyone is DO NOT BUY SONY PRODUCTS because their customer service is the worst or the worst and I have the facts to prove it.

I have a 32" Sony flat screen in my bedroom. I probably watch 2 to 3 hours a month of TV on that unit.

5 days before the warranty expired, it lost all picture and still retained the sound. The GEEK Squad came out to fix it. They said it needs a new module which they replaced at no cost and it worked, they told me the warranty would be extended for a year for the repair. Now with approximately 8 more hours of TV watching, no one wants to take ownership of the problem.

This is very concerning for me because I have always been a POWER Sony user. I have Sony camcorders, cameras, TVs, home theater systems and I probably have more Sony stuff than the Sony stores. Now with this issue and all the PlayStation BS I had to deal with losing my identity, I am wondering what happened to Sony? They refuse to stand behind their products and lose everyoneรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs credit information to amateur kids playing on the computer.

These are all signs of a company that has lost focus of the customers. I will definitely look to another brand on my upcoming 70" TV purchase. I have always bought Sony and paid a premium because I thought I was getting more.

I was wrong! :?

I Bought A Sony Bravia KDL-40XBR7 $2100.00 hdtv in december 2009. it began to fail with digital colored lines starting at the top and coming down the screen.

i have 8 sets if lines on the screen now. i purchased the hdtv from cruthfield.com they could not do anything for me in regards to this hdtv from sony as it was passed the warranty of 18 months. they recommended me to call sony to see if they would do anything or if they would offer anything. they asked me also to get an authorized service person to come out and do an evaluation and then to call them back.

it cost me another 100.00 to have four flags electronics come out and to there evaluation. the guy came in after he was an hour late, he picked up the remote off the table. turned the hdtv on and threw it back down on the table.(instantly pissed! ) then asked me a few questions.

took down the model # and was gone!! never touched the hdtv, and never actually gave me an estimate to get it fixed either. what a waste of $$ :( . so then sony gives me two offers.

one was a KDL-40EX720 for 800.00 plus local tax and i was to send them the tag off the back of my hdtv.. i was pissed again. they offer me a hdtv that i can buy at that exact time online with no shipping cost and no tax for less than their offer. the second offer was even worse.

they offered me a lower line rated hdtv a KDL-46EX500 for 675.00 plus tax and my old hdtv's tag. NO!!!! I won't do it!! i won't give Sony another Dime!!!

with the service person coming out. this hdtv cost me $2200.00 and i have not had it for two years and its basically trash!! and our city does not allow us to throw electronics in our trash so who knows what i will have to pay someone to dispose of this giant boat anchor i spent $2200.00 on!! NEVER BUY SONY HDTV"S and if you do...BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY!!!!

as long of one as you can buy!!. after all of that. i bought a Samsung UN46D6500 From Crutchfield.com , they were at least trying to help me out with a new purchase if sony did nothing. And what do you know.

SONY DID NOTHING!!! i would love to be contacted about a lawsuit against Sony .chewyrobert@***.com
