SONY BRAVIA KDL-55W804A -CUSTOMER CHEATED BY SONY The above smart TV was sold to me by SONY dealer in Bahrain in 2013 with an international warranty. They made me buy SONY camera kit also with the TV to use it on Skype and other similar video chat applications.
SONY stopped most of the smart features of the TV one by one. The firmware/ TV system updates stopped within 2 years. When contacted, SONY India customer care Division, they advised me to go to Bahrain for support. In spite of several reminders they did not listen to me and more over arrogant while talking.
They wanted me to throw out this expensive TV and buy another one within 4 years. My TV costing over 1 lakh has become a DUMB TV within 3 years. BE CAREFUL THOSE WHO BUY SONY TV. GET A WRITTEN GUARANTEE FROM SONY THAT TV WILL BE SUPPORTED INTERNATIONALLY AND ALSO GET A GUARANTEE THAT SMART FEATURES WILL WORK FOR AT LEAST 6-10 YEARS.
PLEASE TAKE THIS AS A WARNING TO ALL PROSPECTIVE SONY CUSTOMERS. LOOK FOR ALTERNATIVE COMPETITIVE OPTIONS FROM SAMSUNG AND LG. MAY GOD SAVE SONY.
