I purchased a Sony STRDN1050 receiver on 12/21/14 for my son for Christmas using Sony Rewards points. It arrived promptly.
It malfunctioned within 2 weeks. I cannot tell you how many calls we have made that they do not return, and we started calling immediately. A couple of times we did get a poorly English speaking person in a call center that said WE had to pay to get it fixed and we even have an extended warranty. Sony said it is not their problem go to Sony Rewards.
Sony Rewards has said either it is not their problem yet another response was the we pay for all S&H and repairs. I am spreading the word and hoping someone will have the knowledge and help by starting a class action lawsuit. I am submitting complaints to the TV channels and State AG offices and BBB's and I hope other wronged customers do too along with any documentation as I have.
Boycott Sony! No wonder they were hacked!
This person wrote the review because of poor customer service of audio receiver from Sony. Reviewer claimed that he or she lost $407 and wants Sony to "sony pays to have this repaired or refund us all of our money".
The most disappointing in user's experience was customer service. The author asks this business to immediately contact him/ her to briefly discuss his/ her negative experience with the company.
