Sony quality has disappeared. They don't stand behind their products

Have a 32 inch TV less than 4 years old that has sound but no picture. Contacted Sony customer service, did all of their troubleshooting, reset the TV , jumped through all of their hoops and spent a considerable amount of time for nothing. The Sony engineering department decided not to stand behind their product and not even pay to have a real technician diagnose the problem. Obviously Sony products are designed to be disposable and meant for the scrapyard after just a few years. So much for Sony caring for the environment! I still own a 40 inch Sony TV that I bought in 2005 made in Mexico that works great. It looks like Sony doesn't make quality TV 's anymore nor does it care about the environment or its customers. It might be time to give Samsung TVs a try. Thanks Sony Canada for 15 dependable years, but now it's time to find another company that makes a good lasting product and cares about their customers.

Im sure youre the guy that never gets extended warranties and guess what? You would've had a new tv already. 4 year is a wear and tear issue.

I purchased a brand new Sony Bravia TV Model #XBR49X900F, not my first (but will be my last). After setting up and turning on the TV we saw an embedded image on the very bottom of the screen.

It looked like a fan. After going through 3 different people their reply came down to this; Sony would not honor its Limited Liability Warranty because they said all their TVs go through a quality check and if the customer cannot prove any damage or defect was not their fault Sony takes no responsibility. It is not Sony's issue once it leaves their shipping facility.

This was not the type of customer service I expected from Sony but since my other but I had no previous experience with their customer service. My opinion is that there are too many VERY GOOD alternatives than to buy from a company with this attitude toward their customers.

That's called burn in jeff. That falls under abuse as you had to have left that image on for an extended period of time.

Any tv will do this. I suggest reading books instead.

A white spot appeared on my screen. I filed a claim and after sending 9 photos to sony, I was informed that their engineers had determined that it was a scratch and not covered. I am an old man (75) but I some how scratched the from of my TV when all I have ever done since purchase was clean the TV with proper solution and cleaning cloth.

Sony - Installation issue

I have brought a sony tv in Croma last monday 28th oct and have been assigned with a service center in Anna nagar and the representatives have closed my earlier ticket without getting and concern and today they are asking me to raise another ticket for this.I am reallly pissed off and i will be available only during week ends and the person from anna nagar chennai is so lethargic and so worst in responding are they going instal the tv when i am not around at home or have to take off untill they come to home for installations.

Sony - Expensive Disappointment

Last year I bought my 2nd Sony TV for $700.00. Since then I have experienced tv picture but no sound, no sound and no picture. Currently I'm in the no sound whatsoever phase and the limited warranty is over and since I have a 25 yr old Sony TV that never had any problems I didn't buy the extended warranty and I'm stuck with what I've got, unless the Geek Squad can fix it for $50.00. Every.Single.Time. The wi-fi part works just fine, so I'm still watching tennis on the old one, not the 43" $700 one.

Numerous complaints about the same issue have been posted, and Sony's response is for all of us to take it in for a repair which is between $500-$700. We paid over $1K for the TV, and all appear between 1.5-2 years old so out of warranty.
