My 7 months old Sony vaio laptop hard disk crashed. Sony customer service logged the case on Sept 30th and said I should get a call from the technician in 4 business days to setup an appointment for a home visit to replace the disk.

I have been checking with then every week or so and initially they said part is available but their system is undergoing an upgrade and that is causing some issues regarding shipping the part to the technician. It is impossible to get to a manager/supervisor. I did talk to to a "Customer Relations" person couple of times but nothing seems to work. Best part is that they just are not able to tell how long it will take.

Standard answer is "We don't know".

Finally, on Nov 5th they logged a new case (because the old case seemed to be stuck due to system upgrade) and I was again told that I will get a call within 4 business days.

Today it is almost 10 business days. When I called, they say the part is not available.

Monetary Loss: $800.
